ActiveSync Still Syncing Time Even For Guest Partnerships

We just noticed this on the Symbol MC70 running Windows Mobile 5.0 that
ActiveSync appears to be syncing the time even for guest partnerships. Is
anyone aware of this issue and aware of ways of disabling this entirely even
in guest partnerships.

Hi,
There is no option to disable time sync with Windows Mobile 5.0 and
ActiveSync 4.x. This is a change from 3.x which did not sync time.

Hi Steve,

Interesting. I was under the impression it used to do it only if a
partnership is set. Could you share more information on how it is occuring
for you. Example: If I were to connect as a guest and then change the time,
then it doesn't update the time if I change on the computer and dock the
device again as a Guest.

If a partnership is set, you can disable the time sync by doing the
following:

1. Connect and synchronize your WM5.0 device.
2. Click Tools -> Options and click Setting (without selecting any
information type just the name of your PC)
3. Disable the date & time sync. Next sync onwards, it will stop sync of
this information.
