I'm having trouble Synchronising using ActiveSync after I installed MS
Defender BETA on my system.

As I'd some issues with Deinfender... I unstalled it too but, I still face
problem. ActiveSync detects my PPC (asks for password) but, it goes into a
loop after that.... I can Sync my PPC with an another System.
I'm not sure when I installed MS Defender it had altered connection setting,
Firewall (infact I can see ActiveSyn in Firewall Exceptions) or whatever.....
I've trouble synchronising.

Appreciate your help in solving this issue.

Hi,
Did you try reinstalling ActiveSync after uninstalling Defender?

Do you have any firewalls installed?

Defender is true beta: unreliable, incomplete and use at own risk.

When uninstalling it leaves a lot of references and files behind. First in
both "all users"-profile and in your own profile (under application
data/microsoft etc.)

After that, you'd better browse the registry and search for "defender"
entries to manually delete them.

See what happens after a restart. Don't forget to backup your registry
before "tampering" with it.

And of course disable all firewall and AV-software etc. to check if the
problem is being solved by that. If not, you can rule them out.

I'm having no problems with the Defender Beta 2 and AS 4.1. Of course,
Defender may prevent some items from running at startup of the system, etc.,
so you might want to make sure that any ActiveSync items are Allowed, not
Blocked...

Thanks for all those replied...
I've tried everything in my expertise level...

unintall, restart & install ActiveSync 4.1
Firewall setting (Windows)...... checked for Exceptions
reset PPC
I've uninstalled Defender BETA 2

But, no luck resolving this problem it still persists. This problem started
only after installing Defender.... I never faced this issue before installing
Defender (I upgraded the Win XP SP along).

I'm able to syncronise on my Laptop without any problem (I never installed
Defender on Laptop).

The problem is.... Once I enter password, ActiveSync goes into a loop.
