ActiveSync v4.1 and Date/Time update from Desktop side

Hi all,

Australia's daylight time has been extended by one extra week for just this
year only, due to the Commonwealth Games that have just concluded in
Melbourne. There was a Windows Update issued for this recently and so
automatic daylight time adjustments for Windows XP have been delayed for one
week in 2006, for computers that have this recent Windows Update.

However, my Pocket PC automatically changed on Sunday, back an hour to
standard time. It should still be on daylight time. I manually changed the
clock settings but have found that it reverts to the standard time at some
point during the day. At this stage I am not sure when it changes back after
I make a setting change to the Clock.

I seem to remember on ActiveSync v3.7.1 (and maybe v3.8) that there was an
option to update the date/time on the Pocket PC with the computer the Pocket
PC was connected to using the USB connection. I cannot find such an option
in ActiveSync v4.1. Does anyone know how to allow the Pocket PC to
synchronize with the date/time on the desktop computer?

Regards,
Neville Lang

The time is automatically synchronized, but the time zones may be off
- see the Microsoft KB article on the subject:

Rob,

Thank you for giving me this Microsoft link. I can see the workaround for
the duration of this week.
