I have found that Norton Internet Security for some reason blocks the
activesync connection. By disabling Internet Security and then un-checking
the USB connection box in Activesync and reconnecting my device and selecting
"connect" that I can then sync with my computer. Questions or comments can
be sent to: .

Hi,
What version of ActiveSync do you have? See
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/acti...shoot-as4x.htm for ActiveSync
4.x and
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/acti...Proxy%20Issues
for ActiveSync 3.x.

I am running ActiveSync 3.80 and just updated Norton Antivirus 2006. I had
to uninstall my previous Norton in order to install it. Now I can only sync
as a guest. I can sync if I delete and create a new partnership.
Unfortunately, the next time I sync I'm a guest again.

I have followed the MS advice of allowing ActiveSync, WCESMgr.exe, and
CEAPPMGR.exe. I couldn't find rapimgr.exe. Later I allowed all of the
executable files listed there. I allowed TCP and UDP 26675 and then later
after reading here, added 5678 and 5679. I'm still a guest.

What now?

Hi,
Are you logged in as the local administrator? This is required to allow the
system to store the registry settings for the partnership.
