I am using an iMate JasJar with ActiveSync 4.5 running on Windows Vista. I
am synching the eMail, calendar, etc with the Exchange Server 2003 on the
same network.
This used to work flawlessly. About three weeks ago I started getting an
error (Waiting for network) 0x80072efd when the device tries to sync with
the exchange server using the USB connection. The local files are synched,
but the Exchange Server is not. It is happening with greater frequency now.
When I connect remotely, i.e. over WiFi on the smae LAN, or over the GPRS
connection or when the device is connected with another computer (partnered)
computer outside the network with the USB it also works.

Does anyone have any hints as to where i can look to find the cause or the
problem and hopefully fix it?
thanks
m

The error comes from wininet (ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT).

If the error is intermittent, it could be an issue with the proxy server.
What happens when you explore web pages on the device?

when that happens i cannot browse the internet either. i think the error i
get is page cannot be found.
the problem is not intermittent any more.
also there is no proxy server in the picture and i checked my internet
settings and it is not set up to use a proxy server.
however, we do use ISA server here, but as far as i know those settings have
not changed (unless there was a recent service pack that changed something)

What is your ActiveSync's "This computer is connected to" set to?
