Where is ActiveX available for Windows upate?

Hello,

I have really enough with the ongoing issue around windows update, caused by
the problem to get this stupid activeX installed.

All security settings are now on low, no fire wall, no pop-blocking, trusted
sites (*.microsoft.com added as described in one KB article) are allowed to
start scripts, activeX, whatever....

Why isn't it possible to get the ActiveX downloaded on a simplest way:
download page? Can anyone help me? The update function was disabled after
having installed Visual Studio component Visual Analyzer.

The news interface you use is OK, Outlook Express is better.
To use OE you need to mis-state your email address to avoid
getting spammed. For example, I use

Start with that link, copied and pasted in IE's address window
It ought to open the vstudio group in Outlook Express.

Hello Michael,

thanks for the update. I have already found the german support page (a bit
hidden but available in Visual Studio help). The funny thing is that on
Saturdays, there is noone available although mentioned on the support page to
be available on Saturday :-).

I will check once again the newsgroup of visual studio, but which key word
is the correct one? If you enter windows update you will be "spamed" by
entries :-)).

Wie gehts Stephan,

After you installed Visual Analyzer WU stopped working.
You want to get WU - that is, Windows Update - to work.
Have I got that right?

connects up to e-mail and phone support for WU.
I think you can use e-mail. I got to gprid=6527 from
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/assistsupport
by clicking Windows Update in the Windows category.

If you are willing sing your song of WU woe to the softies,
I think they will help you get WU working at no cost to you.
You do need to click on the link for that to get started.

As for the other thing, your using the web interface to post,
instead of a newsreader such as Outlook Express, maybe
that's not so important. Here's the german OE group:
