ActiveX of WGA fails on winxp MCE 2005

I have an HP Pavillion m7091 with Media Center Edition 2005 preinstalled
from HP (so win is genuine !!)

Even if I'm administrator, the firewall is turned off, the security level of
Internet zone is set to low the activex to validate the OS seems not to work

Windows update try to do the first time, then suggest an alternative method
(download and run an .hta) but with same bad results...

Any known issue with MCE ?

does not complete when you try to validate your copy of Windows XP
or Windows 2000 Professional

the "c:\windows\download program files" directory was set to read only;
removing the flag the activex ran
