I am working on trying to get a friend's machine back up and running.

when tryingto run Windows Update, we are getting a dialog that says ActiveX
controls are not allowed on this page. I have gone to the security settings
and tried setting them as low as I can. Still it doesn't work.

Anyone else have any ideas about what this may be??

Don't know. Have you tried logging on as administrator?

That is one thing that i haven't tried yet. I did at first check to see if
the user that was signed in was an administrator to the machine. I will try
it tomorrow and see what we can come up with.

Hi, Shane;

If logging in as Administrator didn't work, you may want to check this
