ad-free messenger

Is there or will there be a way to get rid of the ads in Windows Live
Messenger (Messenger 8)?
I would highly apreciate such a "feature" and am willing to pay for it.

Nope, and there aren't any plans to do so.

However, there are third-party unsupported patches that will get rid of it. Ads support the
service, so you'll have to search for these on your own as I don't support removing them for
this reason.
