adaptec scsi driver for Vista64

I have an adaptec 2906 scsi pci card used to run a scanner. I've tried
the drivers in w2k_v100b_pci_drvs.exe from adaptec's website, but the
install starts, then fails with the msg "cannot find file". This device
installs as AIC-7850 under XP using aic78xx.sys for a driver. Any
suggestions for a driver or work-around?

I haven't tried x64 drivers. Have no idea if they will work.
