Hi I am just wondering if ther is a way to add an emoticon to my own display
name as well as to my contacts names. Or if I can just have an emoticon for
my contacts names.

Any and all help would be appreciated. I am using the latest version of
messenger live.

Thanks
Dean

Greetings Dean,

You sure can, you just need to know the keyboard shortcut.

For example, try:
Dean
as your display name.

Hi Johnathan,

I tried doing what you suggested, however it doesn't appear to work all the
time.
It works for the emoticons that are pinned and in the default section. The
emoticon I have is in my custom area and cannot be pinned. If I use the
shorkut keys the emoticon will appear in the message but not in the name. It
is a music emoticon and shortcu is (1). I am typing Dean(1) and nothing
happens.

Any other ideas?
D.

Hi,

I should have clarified -- custom emoticons won't work in display names, period.
