Add favorites using button adds to favorites bar instead of dropdo

When adding to favorites using button adds to favorites bar instead of
dropdown.
I have a lot of favorites which I organize into folders. It is kind of a
pain to have to keep using the menu,favorites to add it to the folder.
I think it would be better if there was a switch to add to favorites bar or
favorites folder.
Maybe there is a way, but I couldn't find it.
