Added My Passport to XP = Messager still asks for PW

Added passport to XP in Control Panel / User Accounts. It will not auto
log-in and still repeatedly asks for a password. If I right-click the icon I
get "Sign-in..." but not "Sign in as..."

Is this "as intended" and if so, what's the point of using the .Net Passport
wizard?

Additional Info:

----
To try and fix this problem, go to start, run,

type %userprofile%/contacts/

If you see your "XP ID", right click it, and select Delete

Then, try to signon to Windows Live Messenger again with your XP ID, tell me
if that works for you.

Refers to a location that is Unavailable (nothing there)

Greetings,

The wizard is intended for Windows Messenger (not Windows Live Messenger). Since MSN
Messenger 7.x, this built-in .NET Passport functionality is ignored by Messenger.

If you wish Messenger to sign you in automatically, open up the main Messenger window
(obviously before login), and choose 'Remember Me' and 'Remember my Password' after entering
your credentials.

Hi,

That really wouldn't have any affect for this problem anyway. What version of Messenger are
you using? If you're unsure, click the Help menu (or press Alt-H if the menu is hidden) and
choose About.

Sorry, I should have mentioned its the standard Windows Messenger version
4.7: "Remember Me", tried that, It doesn't! Since then, in frustration, I
upgraded to WLM v8 which does seem to have a better memory, so I just have
to ignore the annoying advertising!

Thanks
