It's true that Type 1 fonts are in the "legacy" class, and slated for
decommissioning by Adobe and Microsoft.
But Vista absolutely continues to support Type 1 fonts. There seem to be a
few wrinkles, but basically it should all just work. Adobe Type Manager is
not supported on Vista and apparently doesn't work well.

but it sounds like Don Bouchard already tried this, without success.
If all else fails, I'd just drag'n'drop the font files from CD-ROM to the
C:\Windows\Fonts folder. The Windows Font Installer will kick in
automatically.
