Adding contact to Live Messenger

I can not add a contact. Have tried over and over and read directions
carefully. And my contact can not add me either. Have reinstalled the program
and nothing has worked.

What exactly is happening when you try? Do they just not appear or are they showing as
offline, or?

I have the same problem. My contacts are showing as offline. They can see
me online, but I cannot see them. And when I click on "Add this person to
your contacs", nothing happens. Help.
