Adding File Cluster

I currently have a 2 node print cluster and would like to add file cluster
to the server as well. Does the 2nd cluster require its own witness disk or
can it share the same witness disk as the Print cluster. The disks are all
on the same SAN.

Each cluster must have its own disk resources.

Is there any advantage to creating a new cluster or is it better to to just
add file services to services and application?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both options. Some that I can
think of off the top of my head:

1 bigger cluster:
Advantages - Potentially less cost. You have the option to add only 1 node
for your file sharing and use the passive from your existing 2 node cluster.
Disadvantages - A loss of quorum takes down both applications. Potential
performance issues should all resources fail over to a single node. Adds
complexity, requires SAN and heartbeat networks.

2 separate clusters:
Advantages - Potentially better performance and higher availablility. Can
use a crossover cable for heartbeat network on clusters (can't do this with
3+ node cluster).
Disadvantages - Cost.

I'm sure there are other plusses/minuses. Hope this helps.

Regards,
John
