I have XP Media Home Centre. I have just bought a new Kodak All in one
Printer, (5250 series) connected through Wireless.
This works fine on my Lap top (Vista) My husband's Desk top (XP Home) and
his Mac Book.
However, whenever I want to print. It collects paper and then stops.
I have contacted Kodak and they say there is a conflict with drivers on
Kodak and XP Media Centre which is being sorted and will take a couple of
months.
I wondered if anyone here could either confirm this and/or advise me if
there is a solution for this.
Thank you so much

The XP version of Media Center (the last version was MCE 2005) is
essentially XP Pro, if Kodak has a XP Pro specific version of their driver,
I don't know why it wouldn't work with MCE 2005. There have been some issues
with some application not running under MC, but usually they won't even load
when they detect MC as the OS on the system. Does the install program seem
to run correctly?

You might try looking on the Kodak web and see if there are drivers for a
similar (or older model) printer that are certified for Media Center. If
might not support all the features, but you might be able to to basic
printing.

When the print job stops, is it still showing in the print queue on the
computer? If so, does it say there is an error or is it just paused - maybe
the job can be restarted and it will finish?

Thank you for such a quick and concise reply, Jamie. I have MC 2004.
I will however look on their website to see if any compatible drivers, I
simply thought that Kodak advisor would have told me this.
The install programme ran perfectly. It says it is installed.
It says print job in porogress. I've waited and waited and zilch and
restarted to no avail.
Thank you

How is the printer being used and how was the software installed? In other
words, did you install the provided software to one pc and then "add
printer" to the others or install on all? Is it being shared from one pc
(I.e. hardwired to that one) so it is available over the network to the
others? If so, which one? Or is it being used wirelessly with all? If the
latter, one thing you might try is uninstalling the software from all.
Reinstalling on one and Running usb from that pc to the printer, thus using
it as a shared network printer. Not ideal I'm sure, but it might get you
going.
