Hello,

we have a 2 node (HP DL380 G4) 2003 cluster with SP2 and all patches running.
2 MSA's are connected (fibre channel) and the main task is file server. Additional
BE11d is running clustered on them. We like to add the R2 features to the
environment. Did anybody added 2003 R2 later to a production cluster? Anything
special where i have to look for?

Best regards

Hi Meinolf,

I did the update and there was no issue but, the trick is when adding the
extra roles that you can use.
you have to think about the reboots the server needs, if you adds the items.

Move all resources to node 2 then patch node 1. When R2 is complete, fail
all the groups back to node 1. Update node 2 when and only when all groups
failback to node 1 successfully. This way, if you do run into problems, you
still have an un-updated node 2 as a fallback point.
