adding or removing default emoticons.

Is there a way of putting a custom emoticon on my 'share personal message
with your contacts' line. I realize that I can type a small message and put
a default emoticon there....eg: I miss you ..(f) and it shows the message
with a small flower at the end. Why can I not...or how do I put a custom
emoticon there instead of only the default emoticons. If I try to put a
custom emoticon there...all I get are the keystrokes.

I'm afraid not, custom emoticons can only be used in conversations.
