Adding Windows Live Messenger to the GAIM Console

Hi there,

I want to add Windows Live Messenger to the Gaim application under Windows
as I have use Multiple instant messaging programs. When I try and add
Messenger as an account it defaults to server address messenger.hotmail.com
and port no 1863, but when I try to log into the Windows live messenger
account it just bombs the GAIM program out. Can anyone help with the server
address and port no? I suspect it has something to do with Live Messenger
and not ordinary Messenger. Thanks, Regards, Wendy

Greetings Wendy,

That is the correct server and port. GAIM seems to be broken lately with its Messenger
implementation, see here:
