Address & Phone # Lookup?

Is there a website that you can go to and get "free" address and phone number lookups? If
I have an address, can I get a free lookup on who lives there -or- if I have a phone
number, can I get a free lookup as to who it belongs to?

I'm using IE8.

Have you typed the phone number into the SEARCH BOX of your browser to see
what happens? I just typed in my phone number, and my name came back.

Sounds great! What browser are you using and what search engine? I have IE8 and the only
search engines I see are Yahoo and Google. Are you using something different, because all
they give me are pointers to various site that says "free" and each says they found it and
if you pay them they will give it to me!

What? You are asking for something free that somebody makes a yacht payment
by selling. I found me by plugging in my phone number, you can find you. You
can also find the name of the owner of the number you have.

Yahoo or Google will tell you as much as there is to find out without
paying. If you want more, then you can paste together tidbits and then
search on them. You are asking for stuff that you ought to be able to figure
out, and if you need more, then you gotta figure out a better way to search,
or pull out your MasterCard.

Go out on the 'net and look for you, and see how long it takes to know your
shoe size.

I got was links to pay for information. But, using Yahoo it came up with my
brother's name & address; his wife's name & address. So it looks like

"Web Search" and all I got back was links to pay for information sites. Would you mind
detailing just how you used Yahoo for find the name & address?

I must be missing something!

I'm using Windows 7 64, IE 9, and the latest Yahoo. In the search window I
enter the phone number as xxx-xxx-xxxx format. I just tried several today
and find I'm not getting the house number...just
name...street....city/state....phone number. It comes up in the normal
"find" listing for Yahoo with many of the links to find the info for pay but
the info above is also there, early in the listings, normally first.

phone I was trying was unlisted or something.

I tried some cell phone numbers in there and it did not display the info - it must only
display it for home phones - strange!
