Address Bar Doesn't Work

Hi. I'm new to the forum and new to Windows Vista. I just got a new
computer yesterday and it has Windows Vista. When I open Internet
Explorer and type something in the address bar like www.yahoo.com, it
just sits there. It doesn't go anywhere. When I click the home
button, it gets me to where my home is, which is www.msn.com. I can
click anywhere on the internet and it goes, but the address bar doesn't
seem to work for me. I don't get it. Can someone help?

Thanks so much!

Anna

When you type the address in, you then have to click the the "up and down
arrows" to the right of it.

Do you click the green arrow or press Enter?

I hit enter. I feel really dumb because I don't see any green arrows.
I have two arrows to the left of the address bar -- one pointing left
and the other pointing right. I thought those were to go to previous
or next page? There is a refresh button right after the address bar
along with an X for stop.

Those two arrows should change to a single green arrow as soon as you start
entering anything into the Address Bar. When they're the two arrows they're
the Refresh button.
