If clearning the history doesn't work, it's probably malware. Run a scan
with a free tool like Ad-Aware (available at lavasoft.com - search for the
free personal edition), or use Windows Defender (formerly Microsoft
AntiSpyware - it's a Beta product but it works alright for me, I love it).

See if this helps:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/157729/en-us
"How to clear the History entries in Internet Explorer".
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260897/en-us
"How to Delete the Contents of the Temporary Internet Files Folder".

Try Free History Eraser (deletes Index.dat file):
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/fre...ory-eraser.htm

The History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Hope this helps.

Don't worry, tuci, Free History Eraser isn't a spyware application.
