Address line not working

Within the last couple of days, this has happened.
When I physically enter a URL address and hit ENTER OR GO, my internet does
absolutely nothing. Yet if I click on a FAVORITE site, it enters it into the
field and goes directly to the site. What can I do to fix for manual entries.

Look around in this newsgroup and you can't hide from KB908531 complains.
Especially if there's or has been HP software installed, you may wanna give
downloading http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads...are-To-Web.zip
a shot. Extract the ZIP file and afterwards double click the contained
REG file. Let it import into the registry. See if that fixes the problem
for you without needing to kill any processes running.

Please let me know, if that helps.

TIA,
Freudi

Ottmar:

I too had the same problem and when I used your suggestion it was resolved.
Thank you!
