I want to run chkdsk but vista says I need adminstrator clout to do it
This is in the command prompt, of course, so how can that be done
please? Cheer

Right-click the command prompt icon and choose run as admin.
Enter the proper credentials in the elevation prompt.
Run chkdsk.

Hello Paul

If you doing this from within Vista, then you will just need to run
elevated command prompt instead. You would right click on the Comman
Prompt shortcut and click on "Run as administrator" to do this

Cheers, Shawn, and thanks for that. I've just entered the vista worl
from ages with good old XP. I didn't imagine that the right clic
procedure with "Run as administrator" would work on command prompt. I'l
be more adventurous from now on. Many thanks
