Administrator Qualification Error

Hello all,

Upon navigating to the initial Windows Update page to check for updates, i
was subject to the usual test where microsoft checks if one has the correct
update software necessary. After finishing the test, a message comes up
saying that the account i'm on needs administrator privileges to update the
software.

I am the only adminstrator on my laptop, and i have double checked that the
account i'm on has indeed the aforsaid privileges, so i can only assume there
is a miscommunication between my computer and the Microsoft server.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Jerome.

Hi there,

Try right clicking ie explorer and choose run as administrator give the
password, if you gave one, for the administrator during windows setup, when
ie explorer opens navigate to windows update and see if that solves your
problem..

Best regards,
Michel Denie

I did as you advised, and there was no difference, but thanks all the same.

Other suggestions?

Not yet. If you chance across one, would you be able to notify me also?

Cheers
