Vista will not let me install fonts I have had for YEARS. These are Type 1
font files, with a .PFB and .INF extention (3 files make up the font)

I upgraded from XP Prof to Vista Business. They installed fine on XP Pro. I
must be able to use these fonts.

Does anyone have a solution or a converter? I hope Microsoft will fix this
problem...soon. Please I am sure I am not the only one stuck with this HUGE
problem.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Vista has dropped support for Type 1 fonts in the Windows Presentation
Foundation graphical subsystem, but they still work through GDI but not
GDI+.

No, I don't understand what that means either, but all my work fonts are
OpenType now anyway.

The masters should work. We've installed our T1's using ATM, but as
Adobe said over a yr ago, T1's are history.

possible to use Type1 fonts in combination of InDesign CS3, Photosho
CS3 and Vista x64? In Flash CS3 the fonts work well

Hi kokridlo,

I have old fonts, from 10 years ago that I purchased and that came with
previous Adobe products. The have the extensions .PFB and .INF. (do a search
and you will see what type of files these are)

What I would like to know is: Is there a way to convert these older fonts to
a Type 1 or Open Type font, so I can use them on Vista.

Thank you
