Have Adobe Reader 6.0 (Free). Periodically check for updates. This morning
it offers "Install Yahoo! Toolbar".
Can someone advise if/why I should do this ? OS is WXP Home and using MSN
as my internet connection (dial-up). I know this is not a WINDOWS update
question, but am hoping someone can give an answer... or at the least tell me
where to post the question.
Thank you

At least they give you the option. It's probably helping them defray the
costs of providing a free viewer. Personally I'd rather use the Google
Toolbar. It's up to you!

I agree, use Google bar. The offer of toolbars is common,
at ;east as you say, Adobe makes you select the Yahoo
toolbar. I recently downloaded IRFANVIEW and it installed
the eBay toolbar by default, I had to remove the IRFANVIEW
program and reinstall it after being careful to uncheck the
option.

Thanks for pointing that out! - I hadn't noticed it, when installing the
latest version of Irfanview yesterday
Just goes to show that you need to keep your wits about you, even when
dealing with things (you think) you know well!
(although, for whatever reason, neither the toolbar, not the desktop Icon
for ebay showed up on my PC yet - possibly because I haven't rebooted)

When you reboot, you'll see the toolbar. It isn't in
add/remove, but will uninstall with IRFANVIEW. Then reboot
and reinstall IRFANVIEW and be sure to uncheck the eBay box.
