Advertisement Box

Is there anyway to shut off the advertisement box (stupid question, I know.)
It is too big and blocks the names of the contacts that are signed in. Thanks.

http://www.mess.be/ is the place to go. Look on the top left hand side for
"Mess Patch". Using the mess patch you can tweak messenger, removing
advertisement box and many over things.
