Aero disapears on Maximized Windows

Hi,

My Windows Experience Index was 1.0 with a 128MB AGP 8X graphics card, but
it is now 3.2 with a 256MB card and this in turn enabled Aero.

When various window panels are not full screen, it seems that Aero display
works fine. i.e. the title bar is opaque and the task bar has some color and
shading to it.

But if I should maximize a window, the title bar of that window and the task
bar will both turn solid black. Why is this?

Thanks,

Bob

This is by design, Bob. Maximized windows have not transparency effects.
(You should see a slight tint of color in the title bar/taskbar depending on
your Aero preferences, though.)

Default behavior this adds more ledgeability to the title bar text.

But should the taskbar also be going from my brownish/green which fades to
gray...

To all black? I don't see why it would do that. Both views of the
TaskBars have lighting effects however.

Frankly, I find the TitleBar changing to white lettering on solid black
background harder to read. But I guess I would have to change the default
Vista theme to avoid that.

Thanks!

Bob.

Hi Bob,

I found that problem to be dumb, but found that if I just re-size
the windows manually to fit the screen, then they retain the
transparency. Once re-sized, the next time I open the same program or
window, it remembers that size and position.

Cheers

I believe that full screen windows don't have the Aero transparency
effects because some apps that need to run full screen don't know how
to share the 3D hardware resources. Those apps aren't able to share
the 3D hardware resources with Aero so there is a conflict. Disabling
the Aero effects by default for full screen apps avoids that potential
resource conflict.

If you want the Aero transparency effects for full screen apps then try
