After error, loss of some graphic display?

Hi -- I had a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error a week ago that scared the
Dickens out of me. I never learned exactly what caused it but have now
recovered. However, since then some of the Vista graphics displays have
been diminished and have less sublety. Also, Windows Explorer used to
display a little triangle graphic to indicate the presence of subfolders,
whereas now it's back to the old pre-Vista "+". The small box in the center
of the screen that you get from Alt-Tab'ing looks too simple, as if it has
no access to advanced graphics. Any thoughts about what I can do to restore
full graphic display? Thanks.
