After a failed install, where is MS update stored on HD?

Hello,

(1)
I need to free up hard disk space. Recently, I tried to install a 27 MG
ATI Radeon 7000 graphics driver update (that the MS XP update service
suggested I install) on Windows XP Pro w/SP2. The driver update
downloaded successfully, but the installation hung, so the installation
failed.

I'd like to remove these ATI driver files (I decided I'd rather not
install the driver update after all), but I don't know where these files
are stored on my hard drive. Can anyone tell me where this ATI driver
update files are stored on my hard drive?

(2)
Also, I've previously successfully installed many of these MS updates
(mostly MS XP security fixes), and wonder if there are any unneeded
temporary files left over from these successfully installed updates that
could be deleted from my hard drive. If so, do you know where on my hard
drive I can find these unneeded files?

Thank you,
John

Start here:

Step 5 should also take care of the driver.

Don't get driver updates from the windows update site. If you need a
driver get it from the device manufacturer's web site. Only update
drivers if there is a problem and you know the new driver fixes it or if
there is a feature that you must have.
