After I Have Install V5 of Windows Update i get the error 0x800706

I Have WinXP Pro EN. Until I Install the V5 of Windows Update ALL WORK FINE.
AFTER "THIS" every time i try do to "Custom Install" or "Express Install" I
get the error:
"Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page.", error number: 0x800706BE.
Is there anyone to help me solve the problem.
I still haven't install the SP2.
I'm an experience user.

Hello,
The error is related to call failure in a Remote Procedure Call. Is this on Win2000 or XP ?
To the point, have you disabled Remote Procedure Call Service?

Use Start button, select RUN, and type in
services.msc <Enter-key>

Scroll down to Remote Procedure Call. Make sure it is listed as "Automatic" in the Startup Type column.
