After installing WinXP SP2,Monitor will NOT re-start after screens

Installed WinXP SP2 two days ago. Now, whenever I come back from lunch, my
screen is black/blank, after timing out as configured in display settings,
but screen display will NOT re-start by moving mouse, or touching space bar.
Turning off monitor and re-starting monitor does NOT help, nor does reseating
the monitor connector. I have to unplug the PC box or hold down the power
button to terminate session, and reboot PC to get display screen back. This
has happened two days in a row. As far as I know, this is the only SP2 issue
I have. Your thoughts?

I do not have a solution but have a similar problem where the monitor goes
black at random intervals and will not turn back on. This only happens when
sp2 is installed.
