Let's say that I have a window open to E:\My Downloaded Files. If I
have to log out and back in (or reboot), that window will become rooted
to that folder. Fortunately, for some reason, rooting an Explorer
window only affects the tree and not the location bar. (In XP, it
affected both.)

Many times since I noticed the problem. And yes, sorry, it was a
question. Does someone know of a solution.

SP2 appears to have fixed the problem--so far.
