this is a real ridiculous nightmare.
My original problem was the almost 100% cpu usage when Windows (xp) update
was activated.
I downloaded the patch that was suggested at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932494
I finally discovered that the 100% cpu usage issue was still there ( is one
month now I am dealing with this issue...)
However I did learn the Microsoft patch-gift did caused some change: the
audio mixer disappeared: "There are no active mixer devices available. To
install mixer
devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then
click Add Hardware"
I had to roll back the system yesterday to clear the new issue...
When this nightmare is going to end ?
