after running Windows update 2004 12 23, the DHCP stopped working

After running Windows update (2000 prof. Norweigan), the PC has stopped
requesting IP-adress from the router, and assigned itself a 169 adress
instead of the 192.168.1 range from the router.

By assigning fixed IP the computer is now working again, but DHCP is wanted.
DHCP service is running normally, and restart doesnt help.

Any suggestions?
