Thank you for providing this solution to our newsgroup. These tips are
vital to finding reproducible error conditions and forming robust solutions
to various Windows Update issues. However, Mike, you meant never install
SP2 with an antivirus or firewall product "running," not installed -- right?
Please do not ask people to uninstall their firewall or antivirus programs
to obtain Windows Updates. Thank you.
