Any Google/Newsgroup searches for your problem before asking? I only ask
because this newsgroup is over-flowing with the following answer ( I know -
I have posted it many times myself... ;-) ):

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update,
from Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after
you repair a Windows XP installation
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

(Try it even if you did a clean, not repair, installation.)
(Try it even if you performed some sort of restore - not repair install.)
(Try it even if you did an upgrade installation.)
(Try even if you think none of that fits...)

Do all suggested methods.

( Visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and do a custom scan after each
method/reboot. )

Hope that helps you out!

Thank you ( Method 1 seems to be the answer for me!).

Yes, I did google and a msft.com search but it was tough to figure out how
to word the search. My subject line wasn't bad though. But, point taken.
Thanks for that.

In that vein, I recently saw this in someone's sig in a forum:
'It is the beginning of wisdom to say I don't know.'
- or use forum search
