Robert,
I submitted a support request and spent about 2 hours watching the support
tech poke around on my machine. He tried re-installing Java runtime and
Flash. He seems to have morphed the problem statement into "can't display
images in IE" I keept tell him that is just part of the problem. IE is not
responding to events that are handled by javascript and the side bar is not
showing the gadgets correctly.
I also told the support tech that I found the problem statement on this
expert exchange web site but I don't have access. He seemed to ignore it and
in my opinion wasted much of the 2 hours of troubleshooting time. Here is
the link:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/M..._23090261.html
I did have the java runtime and SDK installed since I am a developer. As I
said the support tech did reinstall it but it did not work.
After 2 hours I had to cut the session short. He said he would call me back
and did last night but he called my work number. I will get back in touch
with him by email. I don't know what that will do though since his next
step was to create a new profile to see if the problem is in my profile.
