Age of Mythology doesn't work on Vista anymore after update

Hi!
After the last ca. 10 updates of vista, the Microsoft game "Age of
Mythology" doesn't work anymore (I don't know the exact number, because I
haven't played the game for a couple of months). I reinstalled the game about
six times with no effect.
Vista always shows the error "Initialization failed" (in German:
"Initialisierung fehlgeschlagen") and doesn't start the game. Before the
updates there was no problem during the game.
Can anybody help me?
I tried to use the Microsoft-Support, but the server told me, that my
porduct-id doesn't exist however I registrated the product in march. Can you
believe it?
Please help me!!

ps: Is it possible, that the SP1 will solve all problems with games from the
time before vista?

the 2 ages of mythology are conflicting..

vista is ONLY compatible with a new mythology, one that says
"vista is the best OS ever made, and its faster and more stable and secure
than XP"
