I notice you indicated (Reg.Mech. lives to see another day) you will
continue to use Registry Mechanic. I would advise you to not use registry
cleaners or "system optimizers".
If you need to clean your registry of any unwanted entries I suggest you do
it manually. If you insist on using cleaners or optimizers you should look
at each entry these programs want to delete to determine if it should be
deleted.
These programs will bite you in the ass. It's only a matter of time, at
which time you could find yourself restoring your registry, which does not
always work properly, or doing a complete reinstall of your OS. They're
really not necessary.
