AIM 6.5 and perpetual screensaver issues

I bought a Dell Inspiron 1520 with Vista Home Basic on it, and there are a
few bugs that I still haven't worked out yet.

I installed AIM 6.5, and my buddy info never saves in the box that comes up
when I go to edit it. Also, I never go idle, even though I enabled the option
of letting AIM manage it.

Also, I have it set for my screensaver to come on after 10 minutes, and then
for my screen to turn off after 15 minutes. Since I got this computer, the
screen has never turned off and the screensaver just goes perpetually.

Strangely enough, a few days ago, all these issues were resolved, and
remained resolved for 2 days. But they're all back again! Help!

Lastly, does anyone know how to check if I got service pack 1?

Thanks.

Is this the latest version of AIM? Have you tried checking the AIM download
site for the latest, latest version? Sometimes there can be point updates
that fix glitches in a product. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling AIM
to see if it possibly resolve this problem?

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and searching for an update. I
am using the latest version of AIM.

What I'm must intrigued with is the fact that all these problems were
simultaneously fixed for a few days, then all simultaneously returned. What

I would suggest installing an earlier version of AIM that is compatible with
Vista or contact their support options to see if they can help you with this
problem.
