When I rip a CD to my HD using Media Player, the album art gets transferred
properly along with the mp3s. However, if I search the directory only the
mp3 files show up, but not the jpg files. If I search the same directory
from linux the jpg files are listed. How can I get XP to list all the files?
What other files are being hidden by XP?

In Windows Explorer, Tools > Folder Options.

or Control panel > Folder Options.

On the View TAB, scroll the list:
Tick Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.
Uncheck Hide protected operation system files.

The last may get you a warning message, Click OK, Meaning you are not
scared to see the OS files.
