All downloads halt after 1.5 MB

Hello,

Starting from Thursday when I downloaded several patches for Win, all
downloads stop after about 1.5 MB have been downloaded (+/- 100 Kb). And I
mean ALL, even Norton's LiveUpdate.

The patches installed are:
KB896422
KB883939
KB896358
KB898458
KB890046
KB893066
KB896428

No matter what program I use it behaves the same.
I've tried to do the same download (=the same file) in Opera, IE, and
Firefox, and in all three of them it comes to an absolute stop at exactly 1.6
MB

If someone could tell me how to uninstall these patches, please let me know.

I doubt very much it's anything to do with the patches - I'd suspect some
sort of filtering at your ISP.

Check your free space on all your disk volumes. Run Disk Cleanup.
Try getting 1 patch at a time, and see if situation clears up.

i had the same problem (not only from ms downloads, also games etc...). I've
downloaded a free download manager, and the problem was solved.
