Good post, daniel.
For the majority of us who have had a great experience with Vista, it's always good to see a sensible post about it. - John "daniel" <> wrote in message news:WwzJi.8530$ ... > it is just amazing reading all the complaints about vista. just, well > sorry, laughable. > I bought 3 laptops in january, all came with vista. I should also say, I think that 99% of the problems people have with Vista
are related to one of these issues: 1.) OEM version misconfigured from the manufacturer 2.) Trying to use Vista on a system that is simply too old 3.) Trying to use Vista without Vista compatible devices. For me: New Computer + Vista Certified Hardware and Drivers + Retail Vista that I set up myself = Good Vista Experience "daniel" <> wrote in message news:WwzJi.8530$ ... > it is just amazing reading all the complaints about vista. just, well > sorry, laughable. > I bought 3 laptops in january, all came with vista. I'm happy for you! However, what's really laughable is people come into this group all the time and extensively say the same thing you just said not realizing the few Mickey Mouse things they may do with THEIR computers pales compared to what others do. Ergo, your experience with how Vista may fail... or not, is directly proportional to HOW you use your computer, what software you have installed as well as what hardware combinations you're using. Don't think so? Then consider this. Many people consider bowling a simple game and off the top of their heads think there at most could be only a handful of possible pin combinations remaining after your throw the ball. Well surprise, there are way more. I forget exactly, I think it is 1012 or 1023 possible combinations. Anyway, check out these two pages. http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.comb.perm.html http://www.math3center.info/mathematical.html Now that you had a peek into the world of mathematical combinations and permutations consider the reality of Windows Vista. Unlike bowling where there's only 10 pins in the mix, there are literally tens of thousands of possible combinations of hardware alone, then throw in all the possible mixtures of various hardware and software combinations anyone may have on any particular system at any point in time and you may begin to understand why I call the newsgroup troll Frank a raving lunatic for him foolishly and constantly naming everybody an idiot if they have trouble with Vista based on his screwball premise he claims he didn't, therefore nobody else should either. He foolishly thinks that if he don't see any particular problem, then no such problem exists. Silly fool that Frankie is, he actually IS that stupid. Now don't you feel just a bit silly for implying there are no problems with Vista? Consider yourself lucky you haven't run into any...yet. Others simply haven't been a fortunate as you as Google is a grim reminder of. I tend to feel sorry for people having problems. Others here, who I call idiots and they are, have no compassion. Yet you can bet anything if they did have problems they would be screaming the loudest. |

Some good advice, but you still fall into the category of "Shill" because like others here you simply refuse to acknowledge that not everything is the users fault, actually you deliberately IMPLY that everything is the users fault. You said > one has to take the time to learn a bit about it. that's what I did. now > I know it. We are pleased you now know it all, however given that statement when you add the words > > good luck > one is obliged to ask why, with everything so perfect and with infinite knowledge one should need "Luck". > vista's upgrades: I have it set to alert me but not auto install. that > way, I can see what the new upgrades are. Incorrect, you can see what MS let you see and you can see what they tell you the upgrades (Updates) are. As we have recently learned you only "Think" you have control, as did we all, but really you don't. |
