Shenan, It looks like this might be the fix. the first method seems to work
for me. I'll do a little more testing and hopefully be able to say for sure.
If this is the case some how you need to "Register the Wups2.dll file in
Windows" do we know why it's happening and also how widespread the problem
may be?
not to be fear mongering but if this a SP3 error that for some reason knocks
out MS updates it may not be noticed for a few days till the next batch of
updates need to be applied, however in our cases since were doing a fresh
install SP3 will hit the PC before other updates. Of course My guess that it
more likly to be a certain order of updates (SP3 before KB947864 is my
guess). Either way since it's very recreateable how would someone go about
notifying MS and getting them to look into it?
