all new update problem installing

I have tryed every thing to get the new updates to install.I can not get them
to install,at all.
updates failed are KB885828,KB887980,KB902953,KB887982,KB887979 does anyone
no were i can start on this problem.........

Hi mike,

Open your WindowsUpdate.log file (in the Windows or WINNT folder, depending
on the operating system......and knowing that might be helpful, too <g>)
then copy the contents that correspond to the date and time that you were
last unsuccessful at installing those updates.......paste this information
into a reply post.

3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors
associated with the download/install.

I am having the same trouble with KB902953 - tries to install every day but
fais. The 'faled' button on MS website does not work either so i can't find
out what's wrong. Did you solve the problem? I'm not very clever so a simple
explanation would be appreciated!

The reason this is happening is probably that Windows "Office Source Engine"
Service has been disabled. Suggest you right click on My Computer, open up
"Services" under "Services and Applications" and double click on the "Office
Source Engine".

1. Set the Startup type to be Automatic
2. Manually start the service.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, you will find that any current and future
office updates will install without any further complaint. Reinitialising
Office as others have suggested will fix the problem, but it's a bit of a
sledgehammer solution.
