all Security Update will not install

I had to reload windows XP Pro. Now none of the securites updates will
install. They all down loaded, but they all fail to install. The error is
that therer is a problem with my computer

I'm having the exact same problem but rather a new install, I purchased a new
copy as the one i had running was deemed "not a legit copy". Anyhow, after I
used the key that came with the new xp pro cd, I have roughly 92 updates that
need to run, but fail to install.

Bob, take a look at the post a few posts down on 3/28/08. It has a link to
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144 which solved my problem, and now I'm
watching 92 updates, slowly, but surely install themselves.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery installs.
