I have had my laptop for about a year. Recently bought a Flip video camera.
I have downloaded videos to the lap top no problem as well as often download
still pictures. All of a sudden my computer will not respond to any of the
USB drives or memory card slots. any thoughts????

Most often, it is a 'safely remove hardware" problem, the Properties of the
devices have a Policies tab to change 'write caching'

would you be able to walk me through this?

I know it is my laptop and not the Flip because I tried using the Flip in
the USB on another laptop with have and the Flip worked fine. The Flip has
the software within in the unit so I have to have the USB to work in order to
transfer the videos to the computer.

That's just part of the Windows experience. Microsoft has never learned how
to properly work with USB ports. Never worked properly in XP and continues
to screwup in Vista.

Cheers.
